Simplifying Your Storage Unit

After I started using my storage unit year-round, I realized that I needed to clean the place up. There were boxes everywhere, which made it really frustrating to find the things that I needed. My disorganized space also caused damage, since things got crushed and stepped on whenever I tried to find things. It took a lot of work, but I decided to take an entire weekend and simplify my space. I removed all of my belongings and then sorted, labeled, and reorganized all of my boxes. When I was finished, my space was clean, tidy, and easy to use. Read here to learn how to simplify your storage unit.

Tips For When You Are Moving To Another City

Blog

When you are in the process of planning a move to another city (rather than within your current city), you may wonder what you can and should do to make the process go smoothly and to get through your move happily and successfully. However, if you have never moved between cities before, you may find yourself wondering how you can make sure that you achieve those goals. Get to know some of things that you should know about moving from one city to another and be sure that you are doing everything you can to streamline the process.

Know the Rules for Moving Live Plants and Animals

When you are moving within your hometown, you do not have to worry about changing city or state regulations about moving live plants or animals. However, if you are moving to another city and/or state, these rules can be quite a bit different. Some cities have restrictions about which types of dog breeds you can or cannot have as pets.

For example, there is a city in Arkansas that prohibits the ownership of American Pitbull Terriers and other so-called dangerous dog breeds from being owned within city limits. This is not a statewide law, though. As such, even when you are moving within your state, you need to be on the lookout for city ordinances about breeds and species of pets so that you do not violate the law.

When moving to a city outside of your state, there are even more rules and regulations to consider. Many states have different laws about bringing live animals across state lines, especially if you own any animals that are "non-traditional" pets like exotic birds and the like. Additionally, they have even stricter rules regarding taking live plants across state lines. It may actually be easier to buy new plants in your new town and state rather than try to bring your live plants with you.

You Can Have Your Hardest to Move Items and Valuables Specially Moved

Some of the stress of moving is worrying that your possessions will be damaged, lost, or destroyed during the moving process. If you have a piano, for example, it can be difficult to maneuver and lift because of the size, shape, and weight of the item. Large flat-screen televisions, artwork, and other valuables can be equally difficult and stressful to move on your own.

You can hire inter-state or in-state moving companies to help you with these items. Specialty moving services (also known as white-glove moving services) can provide you with the guarantee that your items will arrive in perfect condition at your new home and will even unpack and set up your items so that you can sign off that they are in perfect condition before you accept them.

Now that you know more about the process of moving between cities, you can be sure that you make your move as easy as possible. Talk to local movers, such as M Dyer & Sons Inc, for assistance with your move.
